About the Role

As an Occupational Therapist within our team, you will provide culturally appropriate OT services as part of a multidisciplinary team. Our services are delivered within a system of care that supports clients throughout their health journey. Multiple roles are available across our clinics in the Moreton Bay (North Brisbane) and South Brisbane regions.

What does it look like to be an IUIH Occupational Therapist?

  • Collaborate within an interprofessional team of health care professionals including Speech Pathologists, Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Podiatrists, GPs, Aboriginal Health Workers, Specialists, and more, to provide client-centered care.
  • Work in various settings such as primary health care clinics, home visits, educational programs, and other community environments.
  • Contribute to innovative health service development.
  • Uphold the philosophy and practice of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health.
  • Manage a paediatric caseload primarily within clinics, working alongside Speech Pathologists and other allied health professionals in an Interprofessional Practice model.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team assessment clinics involving professionals like Paediatricians, Nurses, Psychologists, and Speech Pathologists, conducting comprehensive, holistic, play-based assessments for children with complex neurodevelopmental challenges.
  • Engage in the Kindy program, collaborating with kindergarten staff to support children’s experiences and learning in partnership with existing programs.
  • Provide both short-term and long-term support to clients.
  • Work within a collaborative environment with various disciplines and receive support from Allied Health Assistants.
