About the Opportunity

Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Occupational Therapist provides consultation, assessment, treatment and follow-up of clients in the occupational performance areas of self-care, productivity and leisure. The objectives of treatment are to facilitate, restore and/or maintain clients' optimal level of function. The Occupational Therapist provides intervention to address clients' occupational performance components (physical, cognitive and/or affective) and offers education and support to clients, families and caregivers as a member of a multidisciplinary hospital and/or community health care team.

The Occupational Therapist may be required to provide services throughout the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care Services portfolio.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Graduate of a C.A.O.T recognized School of Occupational Therapy
  • Registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia (COTNS)
  • BCLS certification
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication, creativity, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
  • Successful external applicants are required to provide a criminal record check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) to People Services before starting employment and assume any associated costs as a condition of employment.
Hours
  • Long assignment, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
  • Approximately a 9-month assignment
Compensation and Benefits

$35.86 - $45.29 Hourly
