Job Type : Full Time, Permanent

Location : Cambridge and Woodstock, Ontario

onTrack Occupational Therapy Services (onTrack) , a division of Santé Circle Health, is currently looking for a Registered Occupational Therapist with an interest in Industrial Occupational Therapy for immediate opportunities in Cambridge and Woodstock, Ontario.

onTrack is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide on-site occupational therapy services at a local auto-manufacturing company. This position is part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team, including Physiotherapists, Kinesiologists, Physicians, and Orthopaedics. The Occupational Therapist at onTrack will collaborate with the team to help employees optimize their functionality, health, and well-being, aiding in disability case management and workplace accommodations.

Responsibilities will include :

  • Conducting assessments (physical, cognitive, and mental health) and providing treatment to employees to enhance their health and well-being, as well as aiding in maximizing functionality to support employees in remaining at work or achieving a timely return to work.
  • Performing workplace assessments and job demands analyses, both physical and cognitive / behavioral.
  • Offering recommendations for accommodations to facilitate return-to-work plans and support individuals in their recovery.
  • Collaborating with other members of the healthcare team on employee health, safety, and wellness programs, education, and inquiries.
  • Handling hand therapy tasks such as splinting, wrist supports, and hand guards for online use, as well as providing upper extremity assessments and treatment recommendations.
  • Coordinating with internal and external healthcare providers, as needed, to obtain relevant medical or functional ability information to facilitate employee accommodations.
  • Completing Functional Abilities Evaluations (FAE) and work hardening programs to aid in recovery and return to work efforts, as required.
  • Conducting cognitive and psychoemotional assessments.
  • Reviewing processes / jobs for suitability in preparation for accommodation, return-to-work plans, or modified work arrangements.
  • Conducting Job Suitability Reviews for team members with accommodations transferring to new positions, in line with the transfer process.
  • Entering data into electronic charting systems following professional standards.
  • Liaising with other departments, such as Health and Safety, regarding occupational health-related accommodations.

Key Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy;
  • Registered, and in good standing, with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario;
  • Experience in treating repetitive strain injuries to the hands, arms, shoulders, and back, as well as concussion, is an asset;
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; and
  • Exceptional time management skills.
