A leading healthcare provider is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join their multidisciplinary team. This role involves offering group and individual interventions for patients facing severe mental illness within a psychosocial rehabilitation framework. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Occupational Therapy and a valid license to practice in British Columbia, with a passion for supporting community health and well-being.
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority ( Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Program Coordinator, and under the administrative direction the Program Coordinator, and as part of a multidisciplinary team under the Clinical Director, responsible for providing group and individual interventions for patients/clients residing in the community or inpatient settings. The program delivers care to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness within the context of a psychosocial rehabilitation model. Programs assist patients/clients in the management of their illness and promote healthy community living.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training And ExperienceGraduation from a recognized university program in Occupational Therapy. Current licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as an Occupational Therapist. Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT).
