About Us

The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated and integrated approach to planning, development, and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Queensland region.

The Allied Health Operations team provides direct clinical services, contracted allied health professional services, programs, and care coordination support to IUIH and its member organizations. The primary focus is to improve access to a broad range of health services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through inter-professional collaboration and partnerships with local stakeholders and organizations.

About the Role

As an Occupational Therapist within our team, you will provide culturally appropriate services as part of a multidisciplinary team. Our services are delivered within a system of care that supports clients throughout their health journey. The role will primarily service clinics based in the Moreton Bay (Brisbane North) and Ipswich (Goodna) regions.

What does it look like to be an IUIH Occupational Therapist?

  • Work collaboratively within an interprofessional team of health care professionals including Speech Pathologists, Physios, EPs, Podiatrists, GPs, AHWs, Specialists, and more, to provide client-centred care.
  • Operate in various settings such as primary health care clinics, home visits, education programs, and other community environments.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative health services.
  • Uphold the philosophy and practice of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health.
