Wage: $38.76 – $47.67/hour

*This job qualifies for the Rehabilitation Professionals Incentive Grant Program. The program offers taxable financial incentive grants, to eligible applicants, of up to $5,000 per eligible year, to a maximum of $15,000, paid over a three-year period.*

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Rehabilitation Manager, the Occupational Therapist is responsible for providing service to patients through the whole continuum of care, including acute care, long-term care, outpatient services and through home and community care northwest (HCCNW). This unique position allows the occupational therapist to follow patients through their healthcare journey, while building rapport and enabling return to meaningful occupations. The occupational therapist will work alongside an interdisciplinary team including a physiotherapist, kinesiologist, rehabilitation assistant and other allied health to provide holistic and patient centered rehabilitation.

The OT functions within the guidelines of the hospital policies and procedures and has a working knowledge of Health and Safety as related to his/her department and the hospital. The OT is involved in education of and consultant with staff, agencies and the community.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Graduation from a recognized Occupational Therapy program
  2. Registration with the College of Occupational Therapy of Ontario
  3. ADP authorization would be an asset
  4. Hand Therapy/splinting experience would be an asset
  5. Ability to work independently
  6. Valid class G motor vehicle license and access to reliable vehicle
  7. Mandatory Covid-19 Vaccination
