Job description

Occupational Therapist

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team. This role plays a key part in promoting health, preventing illness, and supporting patients in achieving and maintaining optimal function and independence.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, and deliver therapeutic interventions for a varied caseload in alignment with the Occupational Therapy scope of practice.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on physical, cognitive, and emotional patient needs.
  • Implement therapy to improve mobility, self-care, and activities of daily living.
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, and physiotherapists.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of Occupational Therapy services.
  • Practice in accordance with the standards set by the College of Occupational Therapists and applicable organizational policies.
  • Provide education and consultation to clients, families, caregivers, and external partners.
  • Participate in team meetings, inter-professional clinics, rounds, and care conferences.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to organizational initiatives.
  • Adhere to infection control practices and workplace safety regulations.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
  • Authorization through the Ministry of Health Assistive Devices Program.
  • Current certification in BCLS and First Aid.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or rehabilitation setting preferred.

  • Proven experience applying best practices in occupational therapy with diverse patient populations.
