Job summary

Jobtailor in Ontario is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide community visits, assess abilities and needs of individuals, and develop client-centered plans. You will work with multidisciplinary teams and vendors to facilitate function, and deliver treatment in home or school settings for pediatric clients and adults with medical concerns.

Qualifications

  • Must be registered with the provincial College of Occupational Therapists (in good standing).
  • Able to accept new graduates (licensed).
  • ADP authorization preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop client-centered plans with clients and inter-professional teams.
  • Adjust services to reflect client-centered approaches across diverse environments.
  • Apply evidence-based problem solving and judgment to address client needs.
  • Engage clients to build rapport, trust, and mutual understanding of services.
  • Maintain current knowledge, skills, and attitudes to provide safe and effective service.
  • Maintain client records in compliance with ParaMed policies and regulatory standards.

Job description

Work collaboratively with healthcare workers and other community resources
Analyze physical, cultural, social and institutional environmental impacts on occupational performance and engagement
Develop client-centered plans with clients and inter-professional teams
Adjust services to reflect a client-centered approach across physical, social, cultural, institutional, and economic environments
Apply effective, evidence-based problem solving and judgment to address client needs
Engage clients collaboratively, building rapport and trust and reaching mutual understanding regarding services
Maintain current knowledge, skills, and attitudes to provide safe, efficient, effective service
Maintain professional client records in compliance with ParaMed policies and regulatory standards

Requirements
  • Registration with the provincial College of Occupational Therapists (in good standing)
  • Accepting New Graduates Licensed
  • ADP authorization preferred
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of applicable community resources available for clients and families
  • Current certification (within the past 12 months) of First Aid and CPR
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Able to provide a current, clear Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS)
