Job Description

WSP Canada Inc. (WSP) has an opportunity for an Intermediate to Senior level Occupational Hygiene and Safety (OHS) Project Management Professional to join our team. The role involves providing hazardous building materials abatement / remediation and occupational hygiene assessment services to clients across Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Northwest Ontario.

The Project Manager will oversee all stages of project life cycle (Proposal, Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring and Control, Closure) for consulting services related to hazardous building materials, occupational hygiene, and safety. Responsibilities include conducting surveys, assessments, safety consulting, and ensuring projects are delivered within budget and schedule, working closely with field technicians and senior advisors.

This role is ideal for those interested in occupational hygiene and safety, with a focus on hazardous building materials, thriving in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage budgets, scope, schedules, resources, and client satisfaction.
  • Coordinate activities across teams, ensuring project scope and objectives are met.
  • Utilize project management tools and best practices.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and effective communication.
  • Assess buildings for hazardous materials, prepare reports, and develop management plans.
  • Conduct inspections, air monitoring, and assist with indoor air quality projects.

This position requires local and regional travel, sometimes to remote areas, with physical demands such as lifting.

Qualifications

  • Occupational Health and Safety or Environmental diploma / certificate / degree, with 3-8+ years’ experience.
  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Science, Environmental, Business, or related fields.
  • Professional designations (e.g., CRSP, CIH, ROHT) are preferred or eligible.
  • Experience in project financials, risk management, and project planning.
  • Hazardous building materials training is an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Strong computer skills and excellent interpersonal communication.
