Are you an organized and detail-oriented professional with a commitment to safety and operational excellence? Kent Homes is seeking an Occupational Health & Safety Student to support our teams by managing administrative tasks and ensuring compliance with safety programs. In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining safety records, coordinating training programs, and assisting in operational processes. Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma; currently enrolled in a post-secondary education in Business Administration, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Basic administrative experience, preferably in a safety or operations setting.
  • Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and the ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Certifications: None is required, but certification or training in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., CHSEP) is an asset.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential for collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the safety and operations teams, including scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and organizing documentation.
  • Compliance and Record Keeping: Maintain and update safety records, training logs, and compliance documentation to ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Safety Program Coordination: Assist in the coordination of safety training programs by scheduling, communicating with participants, and preparing training materials.
  • Operational Support: Support operational processes by preparing reports, tracking inventory, and assisting with implementation activities.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the safety and operations teams to ensure smooth execution of tasks and activities.
