Job summary

Golden Life Management is seeking an experienced Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Manager to lead safety initiatives across their Villages and Head Office. This role involves ensuring compliance with WorkSafeBC and Alberta OHS regulations while fostering a strong safety culture. The OHS Manager will develop programs, conduct audits, and collaborate with various teams to promote safety awareness.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in OHS, ideally in healthcare or multi-site environments.
  • Strong knowledge of WorkSafeBC and Alberta OHS regulations.
  • Successful clearance of a Vulnerable Sector – Criminal Record Check.

Position: Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Manager
Reports To: Senior Director - Employee Experience
Location: Flexible within BC/AB with travel (Remote Work Available with Travel Required)

Golden Life Management seeks an experienced OHS Manager to lead workplace safety initiatives across our Villages and Head Office. This role ensures compliance with WorkSafeBC and Alberta OHS regulations while fostering a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain OHS programs, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Create and/or maintain policies and training in line with legislation.
  • Implement the organization's OHS strategic plan.
  • Conduct audits, risk assessments, and safety training.
  • Collaborate with unions, leadership, and Joint Health and Safety Committees (JHSCs).
  • Work Collaboratively with all teams within the organization.
  • Oversee incident reporting, emergency preparedness, and return-to-work programs.
    Promote safety awareness through campaigns and recognition programs.
    Track key performance indicators and drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
    Education in OHS, Environmental Health, or related field.
    Preferred: CRSP or CHSC certification.
    Experience: 5+ years in OHS, ideally in healthcare or multi-site environments.
    Strong knowledge of WorkSafeBC and Alberta OHS regulations.
    Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
    Proficiency with compliance tracking and incident reporting software.
    Successful clearance of a Vulnerable Sector – Criminal Record Check; and,
    Can provide a negative TB Screening test, and complete Immunization Records as outlined in the BC Centre for Disease Control for Health Care workers
