Job summary

Lifemark Health Group is seeking an Occupational Therapist for our Squamish clinic. The role supports client-focused care in a collaborative, multidisciplinary setting with travel required. Newly licensed grads welcomed; 2–3 days per week initially, with flexibility for employee or independent contractor arrangements.

The candidate will evaluate functional abilities, manage concussions, and provide therapeutic strategies designed to support return to work and functional recovery.

Qualifications

  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in your province.
  • 1–3 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist is preferred
  • Newly Licensed Graduates are accepted

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate workers' physical, cognitive, and psychological functions, job demands and workplace environment.
  • Concussion management and return-to-function planning.
  • Perform clinical evaluations, provide exercises, functional tasks, and cognitive strategies to address injury-related deficits.
  • Teach mindfulness, relaxation, and sleep hygiene techniques to manage pain, fatigue and distress.
  • Educate clients and employers about recovery, staying connected to work, and the plan.
  • Identify suitable modified duties and adapt the work environment; monitor progress.
  • Record assessments and interventions in the client chart; collaborate in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate sound professional judgment.

Halfway between Vancouver and Whistler, where the Coast Mountains meet the mouth of Howe Sound, Squamish is steeped in adventure and rich with culture.

This role can be either employee or an Independent Contractor and initially will be 2 – 3 days a week. Travel is required.

Your impact
  • Evaluate the worker's physical, cognitive, and psychological functions, as well as job demands and workplace environment

  • Teach techniques like mindfulness, relaxation, and sleep hygiene to manage pain, fatigue, and emotional distress.
  • Provide education to the client and employer about the recovery process, the benefits of staying connected to work, and their roles in the plan.
  • Identify suitable modified duties, adapt the work environment, and monitor progress where appropriate
  • Record assessment and treatment interventions in the client's chart
  • Excel in a collaborative, inter-disciplinary team environment
  • Exhibit sound professional judgment

As one of the largest networks of OTs in the nation, you will work within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment, delivering high-quality, client-centered care across multiple clinics, or specific clinic and community settings. Key skills and qualifications include:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of current Occupational Therapy standards, modalities and scope of practice; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in your province.
  • 1-3 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist is preferred
  • Newly Licensed Graduates are accepted
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle may be required
Other Requirements:
  • Clinical experience is an asset in areas such as brain injury/neurological rehabilitation, mental health, musculoskeletal/orthopedic injury, home safety, ergonomics and/or return to work.
  • Passion for your profession and commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Superior interpersonal relations, communication, problem-solving, time management, computer and documentation skills
  • Proficiency in computer skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
  • Bilingualism - French and English are assets.
