Job description

The Near North District School Board invites applications for the Elementary and Secondary Occasional Teacher Rosters for the 2024-2025 school year.

How To Apply To Be An Occasional Teacher

Candidates for the occasional teacher list must submit the following document through ApplytoEducation (ATE):

  1. Cover Letter that includes permission to contact references;
  2. Resume;
  3. 2 professional written references;
  4. For new graduates, please include the names of your faculty advisor and two associate teachers;
  5. For experienced teachers, please include the names of the three most recent principals or superintendents who have witnessed you teach.
  6. Copy of most recent performance appraisal or practice teaching report;
  7. Criminal Background Check/Vulnerable Sector Screening that has been completed within the last six (6) months* - after your interview, you will be provided a letter to attain your VSC.
  8. The NNDSB requires the original Vulnerable Sector Screening on file before commencing work, not at the time of interview.
Interviews for these positions will be taking place as required.
