Job summary

Sudbury Catholic District School Board is seeking an educator for a 1.0 FTE Grade 5 French Immersion long-term occasional teaching position at Holy Cross Catholic Elementary School. The role emphasizes faith-based education within an inclusive Catholic learning community.

The successful candidate will hold OCT certification in Junior Division with French as a Second Language qualifications and demonstrate strong English/French communication, assessment practices, and classroom management.

1.0 FTE Grade 5 French Immersion at Holy Cross Catholic Elementary School

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Current member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers

• Excellent English and French language communication skills, both oral and written
• Sound knowledge of evidence-based assessment practices, including the use of diagnostic assessments to inform teaching and learning

• Working knowledge of the IPRC process and the IEP, as they relate to planning and programming
• Knowledge, experience and proven ability in utilizing differentiated instructional approaches within the classroom that support effective instruction and engage students
• An ability to implement a shared vision consistent with the principles of Catholic Education and integrating the Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations throughout classroom practice
• A willingness to participate in the school’s ongoing literacy and numeracy initiatives
• Proven ability to implement effective classroom management strategies
• Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability and commitment to working with students, staff, and parents
