Obstetrician-Gynecologist, Maternal Pelvic Health Clinic

This is a regular part-time position for a physician at the Maternal Pelvic Health Clinic at BCW Ambulatory, starting in the fall. The clinical requirements include FRCSC in OBGyn, accredited Fellowship training in urogynaecology, and specialized training in OASIS including endoanal ultrasound.
The Ob/Gyn, Maternal Pelvic Health Clinic reports to the Medical Director of the Maternal Pelvic Health Clinic and the Senior Medical Director of Gyne & Sexual Health, Specialized Programs and Medical Genetics. The Clinic operates within BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre’s ambulatory services.
This role is ideal for an experienced clinician trained in obstetrics and gynecology, committed to providing quality, patient-centered care following established policies and best practices. Opportunities include participating in Quality Improvement and Assurance projects, with access to research resources through the Women’s Health Research Institute (WHRI).
The candidate must have a Medical Doctor degree with current licensure or eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia, and certification with either the Canadian College of Family Physicians or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Preference is given to those with eligibility for (or holding) a faculty appointment at the University of British Columbia. Additionally, the candidate should have FRCSC in OBGyn, accredited Fellowship training in urogynaecology, and specialized training in OASIS including endoanal ultrasound.
The successful candidate should demonstrate a commitment to learning about Indigenous-specific racism, dismantling systems of oppression, and addressing racism broadly. They should be willing to share their learning experiences to foster a motivating and inspiring culture among peers.
Assets include foundational knowledge of social, economic, and political impacts of settler-colonialism on Indigenous peoples and equity groups, understanding social determinants of health, and a commitment to legislative and provincial obligations outlined in key documents such as the Truth & Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action, In Plain Sight, BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act, UNDRIP, and others.
