Join e4c as a Relief Nutrition Support Worker and bring healthy meals and positive relationships to the heart of local schools.

Relief Nutrition Support Worker provides essential support on an as-needed basis to ensure delivery of nutrition program services in the absence of regular Nutrition Support Worker. This role requires flexibility, reliability, and the ability to adapt to varying site needs across the program.

What You Bring To The Team

  • A passion for working with children and communities.
  • Available to travel to various program sites across Edmonton as needed (requires access to reliable transportation).
  • Flexibility in scheduling and ability to work on short notice.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • An understanding of and commitment to following food safety, health, and cleaning protocols.
  • General understanding of planning a menu and food inventory management.
  • Food preparation or kitchen experience.
  • Proficient in using technology and the ability to use email, navigate the internet, and place online orders.
  • An Alberta Food Safety Basics Certificate (or the willingness to obtain one).
  • An understanding of cybersecurity and the practice of safe online habits.
  • An understanding of diverse cultures and trauma-informed approaches.

Important work you will do at e4c

  • Provide students nutritious meals each school day so they can focus on learning, growing, and making connections, at various locations across Edmonton.
  • Empowering students to create healthy eating habits through understanding the importance of nutrition and healthy food choices.
  • Follow Alberta Health Services protocols to ensure that the school nutrition kitchens are well maintained, clean, and sanitary.
  • Plan and receive food orders while maintaining proper inventory management processes.
  • Contribute to the success of the School Nutrition Program by providing feedback and assisting with the program registration process.
  • Participate in workshops, training, and organizational meetings for ongoing professional development.
  • Work that matters : help kids start their day nourished and cared for.
  • Supportive team and meaningful training.
  • Flexible hours – shifts are on school day mornings.
