Job Description

Union: CUPE TG Service

Number of Vacancies: 1 position

Site: Toronto General Hospital

Department: Nutrition Services

Reports to: Food Service Supervisor

Hours: Up to 24 hours per week

Wage Range: $26.70 - $27.49 per hour (Start rate is in accordance with collective agreement requirements)

Shifts: 0700-1500 Monday-Sunday. Various shifts including alternating weekends and Statutory Holidays

Status: Permanent Part-Time

Closing Date: June 19, 2025

Duties

  • Filling orders for multiple departments/sites applying “First in First out” system when removing items from locations and bin numbers;
  • Delivering food trucks and orders to designated locations, as per established schedule, unloading and putting items in designated location;
  • Receiving and storing incoming goods, following safety precautions;


Qualifications

  • At minimum, completion of high school or recognized equivalent;
  • 3 months to less than 6 months practical and related experience and/or 3 months to less than 6 months on the job training;
  • Must be able to understand verbal work orders and instructions;
  • Must be able to read/understand short notes, brief forms, invoices, orders and memos;
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to UHN code of conduct standards;
  • Exercise initiative and good judgment with ability to multi-task;
  • Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills;
  • Client service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand;
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job: able to lift 11 kg to 20 kg;
  • Must be able to tolerate a cold environment (refrigerated work area);
  • Completion of a Food Handlers course, an asset (on the job certification provided).
