Job description

Brown Bear Day Care is hiring for a Nutrition Coordinator/Cook to join our strong, fun, and energetic team.

Individual needs to be able to work independently, manage their own time within the daily food schedule, and enjoy working around children.

A vehicle (with valid driver's license) is a must as this individual is responsible for grocery shopping.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Preparing and delivering all meals to classrooms, as per the menu (full recipes provided).
  2. Collecting and cleaning all dishes and maintaining a clean environment as per OPH guidelines.
  3. Grocery lists (weekly provided but will need specifics added) and shopping at Food Basics, No Frills, and/or Walmart.
  4. Knowledge about anaphylaxis allergies as food cannot contain certain ingredients.
  5. Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
  6. Garbage and recycle taken out daily.
  7. Candidate must be comfortable around children as there is a lunch break to cover 3 days/week for 1 hour each day.

A valid First Aid/CPR, a clear Vulnerable Sector Check, and Food Handlers Course is a must as per Ministry Guidelines.

This is a full-time/permanent position with full Medical/Dental benefits after 3 months.

Pay starts at $21/hour, $22 after 3 month probation.
