An established industry player in healthcare is seeking a dedicated Nursing Unit Clerk to join their team. Reporting to the Manager, Resident Care or designate, and under general supervision, this position performs a variety of clerical duties related to the operation of a resident care area. Responsibilities include acting as a communication link for the Unit by transcribing and processing physicians' orders, communicating with other departments and hospitals, coordinating resident appointments, arranging resident tests and receiving results, receiving and directing visitors, and answering telephones. The role also involves assembling and maintaining resident charts, performing keyboarding and data entry, and adhering to organizational policies, procedures, standards, and governing regulations and legislation.
Grade 12 education, knowledge of medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program, plus one year's recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
