Island Health is seeking a Nursing Unit Clerk to support the operation of a resident care area. The role involves clerical responsibilities, including communication with departments, managing resident appointments, and maintaining accurate resident charts. This position requires strong organizational skills and effective communication abilities.

Reporting to the Manager, Resident Care or designate and under general supervision, positions at this level perform a variety of clerical duties related to the operation of a resident care area. This includes duties such as acting as a communication link for the Unit by transcribing and processing physicians' orders, communicating with other departments and hospitals, coordinating resident appointments, arranging resident tests and receiving results, receiving and directing visitors and telephone answering. Assembles and maintains resident charts and performs keyboarding and data entry responsibilities. Follows organization's policies, procedures and standards and governing regulations and legislation.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training And ExperienceGrade 12, medical terminology and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program plus one year's recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
