A leading healthcare provider in Canada is seeking a Nursing Unit Clerk to support resident care operations. The role involves clerical duties, effective communication with departments, and maintaining resident charts. Reporting to the Manager, Resident Care or designate, and under general supervision, this role involves performing a variety of clerical duties related to the operation of a resident care area. Responsibilities include acting as a communication link for the Unit by transcribing and processing physicians' orders, communicating with other departments and hospitals, coordinating resident appointments, arranging resident tests and receiving results, receiving and directing visitors, and answering telephones. The position also involves assembling and maintaining resident charts, performing keyboarding and data entry, and adhering to organizational policies, procedures, standards, and relevant regulations and legislation.
Grade 12 education, knowledge of medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program, plus one year's recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
