A leading health authority is seeking a Nursing Unit Clerk to perform essential clerical duties within a patient care area. The role involves transcribing orders, coordinating appointments, and maintaining patient charts. Candidates should have grade 12 education, a recognized nursing unit clerk program, and strong communication skills to ensure patient and staff safety.

Reporting to the Manager or designate and under general supervision, this position performs a variety of clerical duties related to the operation of a patient care area. Responsibilities include acting as a communication link for the Unit by transcribing and processing physicians' orders, communicating with other departments and hospitals, coordinating patient appointments, arranging tests and receiving results, receiving and directing visitors, and answering telephones. The role also involves assembling and maintaining patient charts, as well as keyboarding and data entry.
Grade 12, medical terminology, graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program, and one year's recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
