Job summary

Government of Nunavut in Iqaluit seeks an Operations Specialist for the Nursing Resource Program to help establish a sustainable, high-value staffing pool of temporary and surge nurses.

Reporting to the Nursing Resource Program Manager, you will screen candidates, verify credentials, coordinate staffing levels across health centres, and build partnerships with directors and external agencies.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Human Resources or related field.
• Two years of related work experience in the HR field, such as recruitment or staffing.
• Experience in health care HR is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Developing a sufficient pool of qualified Locum Nurses through networking and postings.
• Coordinating two-level screening and interview processes for candidates.
• Verifying degrees, certifications and qualifications; maintaining staffing pool lists.
• Tracking staffing levels across health centres and forecasting needs for Locum/Agency Nurses.
• Providing information to candidates about the Nursing Resource Program and living in Nunavut.
• Developing good working relationships with other agencies, the community and supervisors.
