Home: Hope St Terrace, Port Hope

Position: Registered Practical Nurse - Part Time

The RPN will enhance the effective management and quality of nursing practice in keeping with standards set by governing bodies and internal policies.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Ensure exceptional resident care following protocols and physicians’ orders.
2. Observe, report, and record vital signs, symptoms, and conditions, and initiate remedial health measures as needed.
3. Organize and direct care-related activities for residents.
4. Assist in managing nursing and personal care staff.
5. Train and develop new staff, referring concerns to the Director of Care.

Qualifications

1. Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
2. Bilingual in English and French is an asset but not required.
3. Passion for caring for seniors.
4. Registered or eligible for registration with the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario.
5. Experience in long-term care is an asset.
6. Ability to work independently and in a team, prioritizing tasks effectively.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
8. Creative problem-solving skills.
