Job summary

The University of Victoria School of Nursing seeks a Practica Coordinator to secure and coordinate high-quality practicum placements for students across undergraduate and graduate programs. You will work with nursing leaders, practicum coordinators, and host educators to align placements with curriculum goals and student career aspirations.

In this role, you will manage communication, track hours and prerequisites, and ensure policies and handbooks reflect best practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Nursing degree required with minimum 3 years of relevant nursing experience.
Active registration in good standing with BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) or eligibility to achieve registration.
Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

Coordinate quality practicum placements for students across health and educational institutions.
Build and maintain relationships with nursing leaders, practicum coordinators and host educators.
Track placement requests, hours completed and prerequisites using databases and correspondence.
Collaborate with faculty, student advisors and staff to keep policies, handbooks and best practices updated.
