The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team facilitates and advances person-centered care through evidence-based professional practice and learning strategies and programs that are designed provincially and implemented locally to enhance collaborative learning and practice. The Interprofessional Practice and Learning team takes a leadership role in creating a culture of collaboration with a focus on team-based care, evidence-informed practice, and learning and professional development to improve health outcomes for patients, families and communities. Through strong partnerships with the academic sector, regulators, and government, the Interprofessional Practice and Learning team has an integral role in influencing and operationalizing health system priorities.
About The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, The Learning Institute, the Nursing Instructor I/II is responsible through assigned teaching responsibilities, for assisting with the implementation of entry-level and specialty level educational programming in accordance with the Learning Institute’s educational framework and provincial mandate.
This position promotes the advancement of professional practice within the Nova Scotia health care community. The Nursing Instructor I/II has the primary responsibility for facilitating learning according to the prescribed curriculum and works collaboratively with the Nurse Educator and Nursing Instructor IV to provide educational programming for nursing and interprofessional programs using face-to-face, simulated and online delivery methods, as well as at point of care education as a clinical instructor in the practice setting. The Nursing Instructor I/II practices according to the Registered Nurses Act, Nova Scotia College of Nursing, and Standards of Practice of Registered Nurses.
This position will support the N ursing Transition Program with a particular focus on blended learning.
Please note this position requires periodic travel to facilities within Nova Scotia. A valid driver’s license and access to transportation is required.
