Reporting directly to the Client Service Manager, the Health Care Aide (HCA) is an unregulated member of the interprofessional healthcare team who provides ongoing client care. The HCA observes, monitors, and reports on client status and condition, including changes in physical and emotional states. The HCA ensures that any changes are reported to the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
This position involves administering prescribed medications accurately according to policies and procedures. The HCA maintains professional and ethical standards at all times, in line with Carewest’s Frame of Reference, Philosophy of Care, and policies. Performs other related duties as required.
Complex Care is for frail seniors requiring an interdisciplinary team to maintain and improve quality of life in safe, comfortable, and supportive environments. Carewest offers a mix of secured and unsecured units.
