Position Summary:

Reporting directly to the Client Service Manager, the Health Care Aide (HCA) is an unregulated member of the interprofessional health care team who provides ongoing client care. The HCA observes, monitors, and reports on client status/condition, including physical and emotional changes, reporting these to the RN or LPN. The position involves delivering prescribed medications accurately according to policies and procedures, maintaining professional and ethical standards at all times, and performing other related duties as required.

Program Summary:

Complex Mental Health Care – providing comprehensive care for adults with complex behaviors, including mental illness, dementia, or other cognitive disorders.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, plus graduation from an Alberta Government recognized Health Care Aide program
  • Effective reading, writing, and communication skills in English
  • Physical capability to manage lifting, transferring, and repositioning clients
  • Active and current registration in the Alberta HCA Directory

Experience:

  • Related experience in a healthcare facility is an asset
  • Program-specific training/experience is an asset
