Reporting directly to the Client Service Manager, the Health Care Aide (HCA) is an unregulated member of the interprofessional healthcare team who provides ongoing client care. The HCA observes, monitors, and reports on client status and condition, including changes in physical and emotional states. The HCA ensures that changes are reported to the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
This position administers prescribed medications accurately per policy and procedure, maintaining professional and ethical standards at all times, in line with Carewest's Frame of Reference, Philosophy of Care, and policies. Responsible for other related duties as required.
EQuaL (Enabling Quality of Life) serves adults aged 18 to 64 with disabilities related to diseases or conditions, such as multiple sclerosis or brain injury, requiring full-time support at a continuing care centre.
Related experience in a healthcare facility is an asset. Program-specific training/experience is an asset.
