Rate of Pay: $20.77 - $26.02

Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Client Service Manager, the Health Care Aide (HCA) is an unregulated member of the interprofessional health care team who provides ongoing client care. The HCA observes, monitors, and reports on client status/condition, including changes in physical and emotional status. The HCA ensures that changes are reported to the RN or LPN.

This position delivers prescribed medications accurately per policy and maintains professional and ethical standards at all times. Responsible for other duties as required.

Program Summary

EQuaL (Enabling Quality of Life) – for adults aged 18-64 with disabilities related to diseases or conditions, requiring full-time support in a continuing care centre.

Chronic Complex Care – for adults with complex diseases or life-threatening illnesses, including those on hemodialysis or requiring specialized respiratory support.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent, plus graduation from an Alberta Government recognized Health Care Aide program
Effective reading, writing, and communication skills in English
Physical ability to manage lifting, transferring, and repositioning clients
Active and current registration in the Alberta HCA Directory

Experience

Related experience in a healthcare facility is an asset
Program-specific training/experience is an asset
