As we grow our team, we’re looking for passionate individuals who care deeply about plant health, sustainable practices, and continuous improvement.
The Nursery Lead is responsible for the day-to-day activities in the propagation and early vegetative stages of cannabis production. - Coordinate with the Nursery Supervisor to implement daily and weekly labor plans, adjusting in real-time to meet priorities and production goals.
- Monitor clone health and rooting success across all trials and standard batches, promptly flagging issues such as low vigor, disease symptoms, or slow rooting.
- Support Integrated Pest Management (IPM) activities by performing scouting, foliar sprays, and maintaining sanitation protocols in propagation spaces.
- Ensure strict adherence to SOPs, Health Canada regulations, and GMP principles, including accurate traceability of all inputs and actions in the ERP system.
- Maintain propagation area organization, including labeling, inventory of supplies, and cleanliness of workstations and domes.
- Train and guide team members on proper gowning, sanitation, handling techniques, and propagation best practices to ensure consistent execution and safety.
- Collaborate on ongoing production trials by following specific treatment instructions and capturing observations to support data-driven decisions.
- Participate in inventory cycle counts, plant counts, and ensure accurate task logging and data entry in ERP and/or labor management system.
- Act as the point person during Supervisor absences or weekends/vacation, ensuring communication flows between team and management when urgent issues arise.
Requirements:
- 1–2 years in cannabis or horticultural propagation environments.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Stand for extended periods and work in hot and humid environments daily.
