Job summary

Sunnyside Nurseries Ltd. in Delta, BC invites applications for a Nursery labourer. Self-motivated candidates with good interpersonal skills are preferred. Employment can be Seasonal or Full time with shifts including Day, Evening, Weekend, Early Morning and Morning. Start date as soon as possible. 3 vacancies available.

Salary is $16.75 hourly, with 40–50 hours per week. Training will be provided and the role involves outdoor floriculture work in a busy greenhouse environment.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English is required.
• No formal education credentials are required.
• Training will be provided.
• Ability to lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
• Outdoor floriculture production environment with long hours.

Responsibilities

• Clip plants and related pruning duties.
• De-leafing and plant maintenance in the greenhouse.
• Clean the greenhouse and prepare soils.
• Mix fertilisers and apply to plants.
• Tie plants as needed and weed beds.
• Spray or dust plants with insecticides and fungicides.
• Assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants.
• Pot and re-pot plants as required.
• Transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings.
• Apply fertilisers and nutrients to crops.
• Dig up wrapped rootballs of trees and shrubs.
• Water and care for plants, lawns and gardens.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
