About the Role

As Nurse Team Lead within a Patient Support Program, you will provide clinical guidance and peer leadership to nurses supporting patients across Canada. This is an experienced individual-contributor role with no direct reports. You will work independently as a clinical resource, help colleagues navigate complex patient needs, support onboarding, and contribute a nursing perspective to quality and process-improvement initiatives. The role does not carry a dedicated patient portfolio; however, you may provide direct nursing or case-management support when operational coverage is required.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide day-to-day clinical guidance, coaching, and peer support to Nurse Case Managers and other nursing colleagues.
  • Assess complex patient situations, identify when additional intervention is needed, and guide appropriate escalation of clinical, safety, quality, compliance, or operational concerns.
  • Provide flexible nursing and case-management coverage across Canadian jurisdictions where appropriately licensed, including during increased volumes, absences, vacancies, or other business needs.
  • Support the clinical onboarding and integration of new nursing team members through coaching, shadowing, knowledge transfer, and reinforcement of program processes.
  • Collaborate with patients, physicians' offices, pharmacies, service providers, clients, and internal partners to coordinate services and resolve issues.
  • Review patient case documentation for completeness, consistency, and alignment with program requirements, policies, work instructions, and service standards.
  • Identify workflow gaps and recommend practical improvements that strengthen patient experience, service quality, efficiency, and operational continuity.
  • Contribute to program projects and technology implementations, including nursing input, quality-assurance testing, workflow design, change adoption, and training support.
  • Support audit readiness, quality reviews, continuing education, client initiatives, and program meetings.
  • Communicate responsively during scheduled working hours and proactively raise issues that may affect patient care, workload, or service delivery.
Basic Requirements
  • College diploma or university degree in nursing, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Active registration in good standing as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with the applicable Ontario regulatory college.
  • 4+ years of relevant nursing experience.
  • Demonstrated experience providing clinical assessment, patient support, case management, or care coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, apply clinical judgment, manage competing priorities, and adapt to changing workflows, schedules, and technology.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts within the program’s operating hours of 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST.
Preferred Skills/Experience
  • Experience in a Patient Support Program, specialty pharmaceuticals, specialty pharmacy, reimbursement support, or a related healthcare environment.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, onboarding, or training nurses without formal people‑management responsibility.
  • Experience supporting quality improvement, process improvement, clinical operations, technology implementation, user acceptance testing, or change adoption.
  • Bilingual communication skills in English and French.
  • Candidates who support patients in Quebec must hold the applicable Quebec nursing registration.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain nursing registration in additional Canadian provinces as program needs evolve.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with patients, healthcare professionals, clients, and cross‑functional teams.
Travel, Work Location & Physical Requirements

This is a hybrid/flexible role that is primarily performed from a home office when the employee is not travelling. Occasional business travel is required for conferences and client meetings, including meetings in Burlington, Ontario. Required business travel is reimbursed in accordance with company policy. Candidates must be able to perform computer‑based work and participate in virtual meetings for extended periods.
