Job description

We are hiring Nurse Practitioners for temporary, full‑time, and part‑time positions across the Interior Health region, with on‑call duties possible. The role works in various locations and sites within the health authority.

Salary Range: $76.61 /hour – $84.27 /hour, based on qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnosis and Treatment: Assess and diagnose undifferentiated diseases, provide treatment, and prescribe medications within scope of practice and regulatory standards.
  • Care Management: Monitor ongoing care, order diagnostic investigations, interpret results, and develop tailored treatment plans.
  • Patient Communication: Establish care priorities, provide follow‑up treatment, and communicate effectively with patients and families.
  • Collaboration and Consultation: Work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to create individualized treatment plans; may admit and discharge patients per policy.
  • Prescribing Medication: Prescribe medications within legal and regulatory guidelines, ensuring safe use.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Lead and guide nursing and healthcare personnel; provide education, supervision, and performance evaluations.
  • Research and Innovation: Contribute to research to enhance patient care and advance nursing practices.
  • Health Promotion: Lead activities and screenings to prevent illness and promote well‑being.
  • Education and Mentorship: Facilitate interdisciplinary education, mentoring, and collaboration in clinical and community settings.
  • Policy Development: Develop, implement, and evaluate policies related to nursing and health system practices.
  • Palliative and Long‑Term Care: Serve as responsible provider for patients in palliative, hospice, and long‑term care settings when required.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety guidelines and ensure compliance with training and incident investigation protocols.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as necessary to support patient care and organizational goals.
