Job Summary

Be part of a supportive and collaborative team of NP’s that fosters peer support and continuous learning.

UPCCs are dedicated to delivering timely, person-centered, culturally safe, trauma-informed longitudinal and urgent primary care. Our model supports holistic, team-based care involving physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, clinical counsellors, allied health professionals, and administrative staff, focusing on continuous, coordinated care for all community members, including vulnerable and medically complex populations.

Surrey is one of Canada’s fastest-growing cities, known as the City of Parks, with extensive parkland, golf courses, and a blend of urban and rural environments. Despite growth, it maintains a rural flavor with active farming and agricultural land.

Residency Opportunity

Our Nurse Practitioner Residency Program offers a unique postgraduate experience to elevate your skills and facilitate your transition into independent practice.

During your residency, you’ll receive:

Position Overview

The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for comprehensive patient assessments, diagnosing diseases, initiating treatments, and prescribing medications within statutory and employer standards. The role involves autonomous and interdependent practice within an interdisciplinary team, including making referrals, developing care plans, and participating in policy development and research to improve health outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and treat undifferentiated diseases within scope; write treatment orders; provide emergency first-line care.
  • Monitor ongoing care, interpret investigations, and adjust treatment plans.
  • Prioritize health management, communicate findings, and support patients’ responses to health conditions.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other providers for assessment and treatment planning.
  • Prescribe medications according to standards and policies.
  • Supervise and evaluate staff; participate in research and health promotion activities.
  • Develop and evaluate policies related to nursing and care practices.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications

Education and Experience: Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with BCCNM; recent relevant clinical experience.
