Job description

The Physician Assistant (PA) is a licensed provider responsible for the assessment and management of various patient populations, including medical and surgical cases. The role involves diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, developing care plans, and ongoing evaluation.

Essential Functions
  1. Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and procedural settings.
  2. Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
  3. Orders, interprets, and evaluates laboratory and diagnostic tests.
  4. Develops care plans and follow-up strategies based on diagnostic findings.
  5. Prescribes medications according to organizational and regulatory policies.
  6. Maintains high-quality, timely documentation including admission, progress, procedure, operative, and discharge notes.
  7. Performs bedside procedures appropriate to the patient population.
Education

Master's Degree as a Physician Assistant is required. Experience cannot substitute for the degree.

Licenses and Credentials

Physician Assistant license in the relevant state is required.

Experience

Experience as a licensed Physician Assistant is preferred.

  • Skilled in taking medical histories and interpreting findings.
  • Ability to maintain quality control standards.
  • Calm and effective in emergency situations.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.

Additional Requirements
  • At least 3 years of orthopedic experience.
  • At least 3 years of acute care/urgent care experience.
