Job description

NURSE PRACTITIONER (NP) / NURSING SUPERVISOR (NS)

The Agency: Located in Timmins, ON, Jubilee Centre (CJC) is a highly specialized recovery-oriented Addiction & Mental Health Treatment Centre. It offers high-intensity, medically supported MH Crisis & WMS, Treatment & Rehabilitation Services, Primary Care, temporary housing, and supports in an integrated modified therapeutic community environment.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic individual to fill the leadership position of Nurse Practitioner (NP)/Nursing Supervisor (NS). Reporting to the Clinical Director and working closely with the Leadership Team, Physicians, Psychiatrists, and system partners, the NP/NS will:

  1. Provide direct supervision to a small front-line nursing team.
  2. Lead planning and implementation of innovative, integrated nursing and medically supported services to enhance capacity, access, quality, and availability of specialized behavioral health services and primary care.

Qualifications:

  • Registered with the CNO in good standing in the Extended Class, RN(EC), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or a candidate (NP license pending).
  • Alternatively, registered with a Nursing regulatory body in another Canadian jurisdiction in the Extended Class, RN(EC), or NP.
  • CNA certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing (preferred).
  • At least two years of experience in primary care and mental health/addictions.
  • Certificates in Controlled Drugs and Substances: Essential Management and Prescribing Practices (preferred).
  • Training in prescribing OAT/ORT and anti-craving therapies (preferred).
  • Experience in supervising, mentoring, teaching, and evaluating staff.
  • Experience in policy development, program planning, and evaluation (preferred).
  • Experience working with diverse, marginalized communities and approaching work from an equity lens.
  • Experience in community-based Addiction & Mental Health settings, especially in Opioid/Alcohol Withdrawal Management, Harm Reduction, Treatment, and Recovery (preferred).
  • Excellent clinical, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively.
  • Current liability protection under NPAO or equivalent.
  • Sensitivity to the needs of individuals with addiction and/or mental health challenges; passion for working with this population.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and team-building abilities.
  • Proficiency in IT systems, including Outlook, Excel, EHR, and familiarity with OTN and virtual care.
  • Flexibility, tolerance for ambiguity, and a good sense of humor.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both official languages is preferred.
  • Indigenous cultural competency and knowledge of traditional Indigenous healing practices and language are preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with appropriate insurance.
  • Willingness to do additional work, including on-call duties as required.

Preference may be given to candidates who:

  • Identify as Indigenous, First Nation, or Métis, with knowledge of traditional healing practices.
  • Have knowledge of Cree, Ojibway, or Oji-Cree languages.
  • Are bilingual in French and English.
  • Have lived experience with mental health/substance use disorders and have maintained recovery for 2+ years.

Wages, Hours, Benefits, and Other:

Salary: $115,300 to $125,000 per year. Hours: 40 hours/week (including 1-hour paid meal). Benefits include vacation, statutory holidays, floater days, sick leave, health and dental coverage, life insurance, group pension, and coverage for licensing and membership fees.

Additional Compensation: Up to $40,000 signing/retention bonus and reimbursement of relocation costs. Possible job share options. Conditions apply.
