Trillium Health Partners invites applications for a Nurse Practitioner (NP) position within Chantel's Place, Peel Regional Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Care Center (SADVCC). Join our specialized program, providing trauma-informed medical and forensic services for survivors of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and sex trafficking.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Women's and Children's Program, the successful candidate will provide trauma informed medical and forensic services to our community. Working collaboratively with the Clinical Manger and the multidisciplinary team at Chantel's Place, you will:

  • Implement evidence-based clinical protocols that enhance care quality
  • Develop strategic initiatives to improve service accessibility
  • Lead community outreach programs that strengthen partnerships
  • Advance best practices in trauma-informed care delivery
  • Create pathways that ensure seamless access to specialized services for survivors
  • This role combines clinical expertise with program leadership to shape and deliver care that meets the evolving needs of our diverse community.

Core Responsibilities:

Clinical Practice & Patient Care

  • Deliver comprehensive trauma-informed care through advanced assessments, diagnostic testing, and therapeutic interventions
  • Lead practice in the pediatric program, including specialized examinations and documentation for children under 12 years of age presenting with concerns of sexual assault/abuse.
  • Coordinate complex care needs and develop treatment plans
  • Provide expert consultation on complex medical, forensic, and psychosocial cases

Leadership & Program Development

  • Foster partnerships with healthcare providers, first responders, social services, and law enforcement
  • Participate in the Ontario Network of Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Care Centres
  • Co-lead quality improvement initiatives and program development
  • Advance evidence-based protocols and best practices
  • Enhance service coordination and care pathways for survivors
  • Participate in regional and provincial initiatives to improve standards of care
  • Advocate for program advancement and resource allocation to support survivor needs
  • Champion evidence-based, trauma-informed care practices for survivors of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and sex trafficking across both our main facility and community-based satellite clinic
  • Support clinical team wellbeing and professional growth

Education & Mentorship

  • Develop and deliver educational programs for healthcare professionals and community partners
  • Mentor undergraduate and graduate learners
  • Develop resources for patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Design outreach education programs for emergency departments and community agencies

Research & Quality Improvement

  • Co-chair program Quality and Patient Safety Committee,
  • Champion evidence-based practices in clinical care
  • Contribute to research initiatives and quality improvement projects
  • Promote research utilization in clinical practice
  • Evaluate and implement emerging best practices

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in nursing with Nurse Practitioner certification
  • Current RN(EC) license with College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Training (Adult, Adolescent, and Pediatric)
  • Forensic nursing experience with both adult and paediatric populations
  • 2+ years' experience working with SA/DV clients
  • 2+ years acute care nursing experience
  • Proficiency in performing speculum exams, vaginal examinations, and venipuncture
  • Demonstrated knowledge of trauma-informed care principles
  • Bilingual capability (French/English) or additional language skills
  • Excellent attendance record and work history
