Work Model: On-site
Hours: 37.5 hours/week
Salary: $63.05 - $75.27/hour (Start rate per collective agreement)
Status: Permanent Full-Time
Closing Date: May 9, 2025

As a member of the Interprofessional Genitourinary (GU) Radiation Oncology Team, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) will operate in an expanded role with high autonomy and expertise to manage patient care and navigation for GU cancer patients at Princess Margaret.

Responsibilities include managing care for GU malignancy patients, leading new and follow-up clinics alongside Radiation Oncologists, collaborating on research and recruitment, and potentially expanding into other clinical domains related to GU cancer management. The NP will provide patient education, psychosocial support, and facilitate seamless care transitions within the multidisciplinary team.

The role demands comprehensive clinical knowledge, including data collection, physical exams, patient education on treatments and side effects, managing complex responses, and leading follow-up and survivorship care. The position may evolve as it is new within the program, but core responsibilities will remain.

Additional duties involve academic and leadership activities, research, quality improvement, staff orientation, and ongoing professional development. The NP must be comfortable working with ambiguity and establishing role clarity within the GU team.

The NP reports directly to the Director of Professional Practice, Princess Margaret.

Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Nursing
  • Current College of Nurses of Ontario Registration (EC) as NP (adult or Primary Health Care)
  • Experience and leadership in clinical practice preferred
  • Up to five years of relevant experience preferred
  • Experience in research methodology is an asset
  • Eligible for academic appointment
  • Certification in CNA Oncology Nursing preferred
  • Professional malpractice insurance
  • Membership in relevant professional organizations preferred
  • Knowledge of data management programs is an asset
  • Strong communication, organization, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple demands, and utilize IT effectively
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
