Qualifications

• Current registration as Nurse Practitioner with College of Registered Nurses of Alberta.
• 3-5 years of Long-Term Care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

NURSE PRACTITIONER

The Nurse Practitioner will work in collaboration with the Nursing Leadership team and Physicians to provide comprehensive health services to the residents of Extendicare Michener Hill. Responsibilities include completing health assessments for residents with acute or chronic conditions, including diagnosis, ordering tests, and therapeutic treatments. The Nurse Practitioner actively participates in Inter-disciplinary Team conferences and Quality Improvement projects/teams/activities.

Required Qualifications

• Current registration as Nurse Practitioner with College of Registered Nurses of Alberta
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and families from diverse social, economic, and cultural backgrounds
• Ability to work independently within a multi-disciplinary team
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge/Experience with MDS-RAI assessments and coding is an asset
• 3-5 years of LTC experience preferred
• Proficiency in computer programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, or Microsoft 365
