About The Opportunity
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides comprehensive clinical care in designated service areas. The NP collaborates with the healthcare team to deliver person and family-centered care. As the most responsible healthcare provider (MRHCP), the NP works autonomously to diagnose, interpret tests, prescribe medications, and perform procedures. The NP manages admissions, transfers, discharges within their scope, and provides direct inpatient care, integrating physical, psychological, spiritual, and community needs into holistic care plans.
Nurse Practitioners adhere to the Nova Scotia College of Nursing Standards of Practice and the Canadian Nurses Association’s Code of Ethics. They are accountable for safe, competent, ethical care within their scope, maintaining professional development and competence.
The NP aligns their practice with Nova Scotia Health’s principles, including the organization’s vision, mission, values, safety, quality, partnerships, and collaboration.
