Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

Under the general direction of XXXX, as part of a multidisciplinary team, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) will:

  1. Apply advanced nursing and medical theory to provide clinical care, autonomously ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing pharmacologic agents, and performing minor invasive procedures.
  2. Contribute to knowledge development and the advancement of the nursing profession by applying current/relevant nursing and medical theories.
  3. Incorporate medical and advanced nursing knowledge into clinical practice.
  4. Demonstrate competence to practice autonomously in health promotion, disease prevention, complex care planning, implementation, evaluation, and teaching.
  5. Facilitate problem-solving among staff, patients, physicians, and the multidisciplinary team.
  6. Utilize skills in consultation, collaboration, and systems management to provide effective care.
Experience
  • To be determined. Clinical experience considered an asset or requirement will be specified during the hiring process.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Master's of Nursing, Nurse Practitioner Stream or equivalent, as approved by the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Active registration on the RN Extended Practice (EP) Register of the CRNM.
  • Authority to provide extended practice nursing care, endorsed in the practice setting, within the scope defined by CRNM.
  • Participation in professional associations such as ARNM is preferred.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Knowledge of CRNM Standards of Practice, CNA Code of Ethics, RHPA scope of practice, advanced nursing care, relevant policies, legislations, and principles of collaborative practice.
  • Effective communication skills, proficiency with computers, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Leadership, adaptability, stress management, critical thinking, organizational skills, and conflict resolution abilities.
