Job summary

Saskatchewan Health Authority (Wadena Hospital) seeks a Nurse Practitioner to provide autonomous, evidence-informed care across continuing care, long-term care, primary health care, acute care, urgent care and emergency settings.

Reporting to a manager in a designated program area, the NP assesses, diagnoses, prescribes, orders and interprets diagnostic tests, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to support safe, person-centred care.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Min. 3 years RN experience in Emergency, Acute, LTC, Continuing Care, Primary Care.
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required.
  • Licensed/eligible with CRNS (Saskatchewan).

Job Description: This Nurse Practitioner (NP) role provides autonomous, evidence-informed care across continuing care, long-term care, primary health care, acute care, urgent care, and emergency settings. The position will report to and work under the direction of a manager in one of the designated program areas. Practicing within Saskatchewan Health Authority policies, CRNS standards, and legislated NP scope, the NP assesses, diagnoses, treats, prescribes, orders and interprets diagnostic tests, performs authorized procedures, and evaluates care for clients with common acute illnesses, stable chronic conditions, urgent and emergent needs, and health promotion priorities as the most responsible provider (MRP). The NP works collaboratively with clients, families, physicians, multi-disciplinary teams, community partners, and managers to support safe, person-centred, culturally responsive, and coordinated care.
