About the position

As a Nurse Practitioner, you will provide comprehensive patient care by examining patients to determine their cause of illness or concern, making them feel safe and comfortable, and working with other staff to ensure that the clinic runs smoothly. Focusing on our patients’ physical and mental well-being during their fertility journey, your responsibilities include diagnosing and treating illnesses; ordering and interpreting tests; prescribing medications; and performing medical procedures. Crucially, you will share the Founder, Dr. Marjorie Dixon’s passion for being the gold standard for successful reproductive health and fertility centres.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical exams, gather medical histories, diagnose patients’ conditions, and assess patient needs
  • Provide detailed information to patients regarding treatments and involve patients in decisions about their care
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and X-rays
  • Prescribe, administer, and manage medications and therapies
  • Provide health education, counseling, and support to patients and families
  • Advise patients on health promotion and serve as patient advocate
  • Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals and refer patients as needed
  • Ensure complete and accurate documentation of patient information and treatments for patient charts and EMR system
  • Participate in research and provide education to patients and other healthcare providers in clinic
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of business and patient information
  • Maintain clinical competence through practice, education, and research
  • Qualifications and Requirements

  • Master's or doctoral degree in nursing
  • Current Nurse Practitioner licence in province of practice
  • Member in good standing of RNO
  • At least three (3) years of experience as Registered Nurse (RN), with track record of success in diagnosing conditions and applying remedial treatments
  • Advanced knowledge of cleaning and sterilization of instruments and equipment
  • Fully comfortable with MS Office, medical software (including eIVF and Accuro), and virtual meeting technology
  • Track record of identifying unusual occurrences that require intervention
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment skills
  • Solid time management, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to discuss complex topics with patients and check for understanding
  • Available and willing to work on weekends and statutory holidays
