Job summary

Alberta Health Services (AHS), Edmonton Zone Medical Affairs, is seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join the critical care team at the Sturgeon Community Hospital ICU and CCU, to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to critically ill and cardiac patients.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master's degree.
• Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Alberta Health Services (AHS), Edmonton Zone Medical Affairs, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join the dedicated critical care team at the Sturgeon Community Hospital Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Coronary Care Unit (CCU). This advanced practice role offers an exciting opportunity to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to critically ill and cardiac patients within a dynamic ICU/CCU environment. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, evidence-informed care and optimize patient outcomes.

Description

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems.
