Job Type: Full-Time Non-Exempt
Shift Details: Monday - Friday / 8am - 5:00pm
Work Location: Crisis - Wake Recovery Response Center - Raleigh, NC
Salary/Hourly Wage: $83.00 - $88.00/hour

Position Summary

The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for coordinating and providing medical/clinical services including engagement, assessment, differential diagnosis, recovery service planning, medication management, education, and risk assessment and discharge planning. The role also involves using Recovery Coaching to foster recovery partnerships and environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Guest Care & Advocacy:
    • Provides appropriate treatment and referral according to individual needs.
    • Prescribes and administers medication.
    • Supervises special diet requirements.
    • Coordinates relationships with outside medical and support services.
  2. Compliance & Risk Management:
    • Ensures care complies with regulations and standards.
    • Completes reviews for new individuals and makes appropriate dispositions.
    • Responds to medical emergencies.
    • Documents clinical activities.
    • Stays updated on regulations and policies.
  3. Cross Functional Collaboration:
    • Works with interdisciplinary teams to improve outcomes.
  4. Additional Duties: Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Master’s Degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited school, with Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner training.
  • Psychiatric care certification (PMHNP).
  • Valid DEA registration.
  • Current state-specific RN and Nurse Practitioner licenses (Compact preferred).
  • Experience in psychiatric and addiction settings preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, attention to detail, problem-solving, communication skills, and effective documentation.
  • Ability to pass de-escalation training and understand involuntary commitment procedures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and exercise judgment and discretion.
  • Driving requirements vary; must meet policy or sign Non-Driver Attestation.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old (or as per state regulations).
  • Complete credentialing process successfully.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Pass background, drug testing, education verification, and obtain necessary clearances.
Physical Demands

Includes sitting, standing, walking, handling, and possibly lifting up to 20 pounds. Visual, auditory, and dexterity skills required.

Work Environment

Office or behavioral health facility, with contact with potentially agitated individuals. Travel within the region may be necessary.
