Qualifications

  • Licensed and in good standing with the CRNS.
  • Basic Life Support or CPR/AED Level C certification required.

Calian is proud to continue a long-standing contractual relationship with the Department of National Defence (DND) to provide healthcare services to the Canadian Armed Forces. Through the Health Care Provider Contract, Calian employs health care professionals across Canada who are integral to supporting the health and wellbeing of our military members.

Position Overview

Calian is excited to invite a dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our clinical team at CFB Dundurn, located outside of Saskatoon. This full-time role offers the unique opportunity to serve as a key member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, providing high-quality primary care to Canadian Armed Forces members. As a Nurse Practitioner with Calian, you will play an essential role in delivering comprehensive health services, including primary care, health promotion and disease prevention while having access to a robust multidisciplinary team. This position is ideal for a professional committed to enhancing the health and well-being of our Armed Forces personnel through collaborative and impactful care.

Responsibilities
  • Performs comprehensive health assessments using sound clinical judgment, diagnostic and therapeutic skills.
  • Practices autonomously and is solely accountable for his/her actions while practicing.
  • Consults with physicians or other health care professionals when the client’s condition requires care beyond the scope of NP practice.
  • Makes appropriate medical employment limitation recommendations in accordance with the Surgeon General’s guidelines.
  • Prescribes medications and orders x-rays, ultrasounds, and lab tests in accordance with the Standards of Practice for RNs in the Extended Class
  • Implements strategies to promote health and prevent illness with individuals, families or groups.
  • Collaborates on the management of Members with stable chronic illnesses (such as diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and asthma) through a predetermined referral process.
  • Refers patients to other providers or programs according to the patient’s need.
Qualifications
  • Licensed and in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
  • Basic Life Support for Health Providers or CPR/AED Level C
Additional Requirements
  • You will be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level
