Nurse Manager, Eating Disorders Program & Interventional Psychiatry Services

Join Homewood Health Centre as a Nurse Manager for our Eating Disorders Program & Interventional Psychiatry Services.

Position Overview:

As a Nurse Manager, you will be a key member of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team dedicated to providing seamless services and programs to our clients. You will provide clinical leadership, mentoring, and coaching to nursing staff within our programs, acting as a clinical resource and support to frontline nurses and team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor the delivery of patient care and unit activities, including nursing models of care.
  • Serve as a resource for community and family engagement, and handle clinical emergencies, codes, and infection control issues.
  • Oversee critical incident follow-up, patient and family concerns.
  • Lead workflow, staff development, recruitment, scheduling, and performance management, including union activities.
  • Support complex clinical decision-making regarding patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Promote teamwork, conflict resolution, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Ensure nursing practices meet standards of practice, ethical, legal, and hospital standards.
  • Implement and supervise policies, procedures, and protocols related to nursing care.
  • Coordinate clinical placements and support nursing education.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and manage related data collection.
  • Assist in budget preparation and ensure compliance with accreditation standards.

Qualifications:

  • BScN required; CPMHN (C) preferred.
  • Experience in health management and healthcare or business-related master's degree preferred.
  • 5-10 years of psychiatric and addiction care experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Medical management skills including IV insertion and post-op recovery.
  • Strong organizational, clinical judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of patient acuity, budget management, and healthcare practices.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and software applications.
  • Commitment to workplace health and safety principles.
