Regional Fertility Program is hiring a Full-time Permanent Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at our Calgary location.
The Licensed Practical Nurse uses professional knowledge, technical skill, and clinical judgment to provide quality client care. Responsibilities include providing care in the General Fertility Clinic and the Procedure and Recovery Rooms.
Primary Purpose Of The Position
- Provide direct patient care in a specialized medical practice, including infertility clinics, procedure and recovery room duties, assisting with minor surgical procedures, and assessing and managing patients on the phone.
- Work independently within clinic protocols to assess patients, interpret test results, and manage treatments.
Education
- Graduation from a Licensed Practical Nurse Program.
Registration Requirements
- Current College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) registration.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
Applied Experience
- Previous experience in gynecology preferred.
- Previous experience in fertility is an asset.

Key Responsibilities
- Collect detailed patient histories and ensure proper documentation.
- Obtain and review patient results and act on them according to protocols and scope of practice.
- Arrange appointments and testing as directed by physicians.
- Document all nursing activities.
- Report patient concerns to physicians.
- Provide patient education and evaluate responses to care.
- Coordinate urgent medical procedures and follow-up care.
- Participate in nursing care delivery, including pre/post-op care, assisting with procedures, and performing nursing procedures.
- Assist physicians with procedures, perform ultrasound for embryo transfer, and carry out physician orders.
- Participate in staff orientation, team collaboration, research, and quality assurance activities.
- Identify professional development needs and pursue ongoing learning.
