Patient Care:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on individual needs.
  • Monitor patients conditions and vital signs, recognizing any changes that may require immediate attention.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Provide patient education on health management, procedures, and lifestyle changes.

Clinical Duties:

  • Perform nursing procedures such as wound care, catheterization, IV placement, and other clinical interventions.
  • Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures and provide pre- and post-operative care.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort at all times during treatment.

Patient Advocacy:

  • Act as a patient advocate by ensuring their needs, concerns, and preferences are heard and met.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and families during difficult or stressful times.
  • Ensure a compassionate and respectful approach to care.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Accurately document patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Monitor and report any adverse reactions to medications or treatments to the healthcare team.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with healthcare regulations.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

  • Work closely with the medical team, including physicians, specialists, and other nurses, to coordinate patient care.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to discuss and update patient care plans.
  • Assist with training and mentoring new nursing staff or students.

Health Promotion and Disease Prevention:

  • Educate patients and families on health promotion and preventive care, such as nutrition, exercise, vaccinations, and disease prevention.
  • Encourage patients to take an active role in managing their health and follow prescribed treatment plans.

Emergency Response:

  • Provide immediate care in emergency situations and assist in life-saving measures as needed.
  • Respond promptly to changes in patient conditions, including medical emergencies, by implementing appropriate protocols.
